Virtually Everything Has Changed
Ariane Coleman
Oh boy, how life has changed! At Ari O Jewelry I’ve gone from dealing with 90% of my clients in-person to a whole new world of 100% virtual interaction. Though it was hard to get used to at first, I have been doing it enough now to be comfortable, and might I say… good at it! This morning I spent a large portion of time working on a custom project with my client in Boston. I start with a quick run down of what the client is looking for. If they are looking for a ready made piece, I can put together either a grouping of jewelry I have in inventory and send photo, or go live and show them around the store and let them look at everything. This gives my clients (new or old) a chance to see everything, ask pricing, and have me try on pieces for them. perfect piece created just for you. Maybe my client wants to create something special and is looking for that custom project. In that case it mostly goes the same we go back and fourth- I get the low-down from the client and then email, text or visual chat the stones we have in inventory (or secure the stone they are looking for) get the metal choice and execute their custom project. Sometimes I have clients that say they’re sorry for taking up my time, but this is what I do- and I really enjoy doing it!
Though I look forward to the day we get back to “normal” and can enjoy the human experience again, I do feel grateful that with technology in place we can still maintain a connection with each other.
